Experience Day of Story Buddy

On 11 July 2015, 40 parents and children joined the experience day of Story Buddy programme. They learnt how to appreciate a picture book via image, sound and emotion. The sharing day started with an interesting Japanese picture book to connect the parents. Eric Leung, a storytelling father from TWGHs Fong Shiu Yee Nursery School, shared in the forum. After a year of training and practice, he realized storytelling was a perfect way to communicate with children. It helped adults to see things from children’s point of view. His parent-child relationship was therefore enhanced. He continues to tell stories to the fellow students in the nursery school.

Fair Play

Thirteen volunteers from Deacons shared a story related to Antitrust law with children from Chuk Yuen centre on 27 July 2015. In the story, the wolf team tried win by making many injustice actions. Luckily, the judge found that out and the wolves lost their trophy to the horse team. Volunteers appreciated that children voice out their opinion actively in the sharing session. Children also concluded that the meaning and satisfaction will be gone if one cheated in a competition.
