Picture book tea gathering (2): Illustrator reads a picture book

Through the eyes of an illustrator, who is also a mother, parents and book lovers learn to appreciate the realm of children. The role of parents and the characteristics of children can also be found in picture books. Parallel storytelling activities for children will be provided on the same day.

Storytelling for Christmas

A dozen volunteers from Fossil Group visited Storyland on 17 December 2014 to hold a storytelling session. Children and volunteers posed as different kinds of trees before the beginning of the story. The story "The magical tree” was told by the well prepared volunteers with the use of various props. To end the programme, participants made paper snow flakes to decorate the centre. Every child was given a small gift and a picture book. What a fruitful moment!

Book Carousel Project

In order to extend the reading scope of our children members from Wong Tai Sin and Lamma Island, HAC took them to the Eslite book store to buy quality picture books on 23 December 2014. This project was generously supported by Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club and Partnership Fund for the Disadvantaged.

Generous Donation from Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation

On 17 Dec 2014, Ms. May Wong, Executive Director of HAC, received the kind donation of HK$100,000 from Ng Teng Fong Charitable Foundation. The donation will be used for creative storytelling services for underprivileged children.
