“Ideal Green Home” Design Competition

In order to promote the concept of environmental protection and recycling, we are now launching an “Ideal Green Home” design competition. Students from primary and secondary schools are welcome to join this meaningful and creative event. Outstanding artworks will be displayed in the Central Oasis (Old Central Market) on 30 March to 2 April 2012.

Renovation for Hans Andersen Club Chuk Yuen Centre Project

Renovation for Hans Andersen Club Chuk Yuen Centre Project got sponsorship of over HK$400,000 from Fu Tak Lam Foundation. In this project, an environmental friendly air conditioning system, sanitary fixtures, plumbing and drainage system, electrical devices, fire alarm and signage will be installed at the centre.

Social Inclusion through Creative Storytelling

With the generous support from Societe Generale and Partnership Fund for Disadvantaged of Social Welfare Department, the second phase of the project was commenced. From September 2011 to January 2012, students of S.K.H. Lui Ming Choi Secondary School and Hong Kong Red Cross John F. Kennedy Centre were paired up as story-buddies. All trained secondary students became reading leaders in creative games, storytelling and drawing white glue paintings with the primary students.

Tai O Cultural Volunteers Programme

With the support of The Hong Kong Award for Young People (AYP), HAC Tai O Centre will launch a Tai O Cultural Volunteers Programme in this year.This programme lasts for three to six months. In this programme, teenager volunteers will be introduced with the history and local cultural of Tai O. Leadership and green tour guide trainings and practices will also be given. After the completion of this programme, participants are qualified to bronze or silver award of service session by AYP.
