Cultural July

Organised by the Hong Kong Book Fair and spanning the whole of July, book and reading related seminars and activities will take place at various spots over the city, including book stores, shopping malls, cafés, schools and NGOs, etc. HAC has selected several creative storytelling activities for children and parents in six of our centres.

 Elmer the Elephant

On 24 June, a story programme was held at Storyland. 14 volunteers from Deacons performed the drama story. Through this programme, participants also learnt about the principles of equality.
This event is part of the "The ABCs of Law” programme, which is organised in collaboration with Deacons and received sponsorship from Partnership for the Disadvantaged in June 2016.

Green Warriors

On 18 June 2016, 24 volunteers from Hip Hing Construction Company Limited and Vibro (Hong Kong) Ltd. brought children of Chuk Yuen Centre to Zero Carbon World at Kowloon Bay. With the on-site observations and experiences, children learnt that green buildings and a low carbon lifestyle are an achievable goal in our modern lives.

Woodside Biodiversity Trip

13 volunteers from Credit Suisse brought 16 children from Tai O centre to Lung Fu Shan on Hong Kong Island. At the education centre, children learnt about the precious natural resources and biodiversity of Hong Kong.
