Secretary for Home Affairs’ Commendation Scheme

Ms. Christy Yung, Centre in Charge of Lamma Island Centre, was glad to receive the certificate of commendation from the Secretary for Home Affairs Department in September 2015. Ms. Yung has been serving the Lamma community for seven consecutive years. It was a great encouragement on her outstanding contributions to the promotion of community building. Recently, Ms. Yung is dedicated on the development of the Story Garden, helping children and parents to release their pressure via the natural environment.

Love Ocean Journey

HAC brought 80 children to the Ocean Academy of Ocean Park on 19 September 2015, learning ways to protect endangered animals. After that, children spent the day with their families in the park. 20 mothers received storytelling training in the meantime, so that they could create a picture book later on with their own child to enhance their relationship. This activity was sponsored by W. L. Gore & Associates (Hong Kong) Ltd.

DHL Rugby World Cup Community Festival

On 13 September 2015, DHL partnered with Hong Kong Rugby Football Union to host the Rugby World Cup Community Festival at KGV school sports pitch. Over 150 boys and girls showed off their new-found skills on the rugby pitch. DHL volunteers team accompanied the kids from Hans Andersen Club to join the rugby games and play at different game booths, and the kids had a great time experiencing the fun of rugby.

Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival

16 volunteers from Manulife visited Diana Boyd Wilson Centre before Mid-Autumn Festival. They played games and distributed moon cakes to over 40 children. Everyone enjoyed the happy gathering.
