Hans Andersen Club Tai O Cyber Learning Centre
Located in Lantau island of Hong Kong, Tai O has had inadequate Information Technology (IT) facilities. Local residents have experienced difficulties in obtaining Internet access, for example. There, our Tai O Cyber Learning Centre has been established to provide free Internet access and IT training programmes for the Tai O community. The first of its kind in Tai O, the Centre is co-organised by the Hong Kong Computer Society and the Hans Andersen Club; it is sponsored by PCCW and Microsoft (HK) Ltd.
We hope the establishment of our Tai O Cyber Learning Centre will eliminate the digital divide between Tai O and other places in Hong Kong. There are 10 new computers, equipped with broadband service and Microsoft software, that can be used to facilitate residents in their work or study. The Centre will regularly provide training programmes to enhance Tai O residents' understanding of IT. We believe that this can strengthen their employment opportunities.
Please press here (Chinese version only) for course details (in Chinese only). If you would like to enroll or be a volunteer tutor, please contact the Tai O Centre at 2985 4200.
Please download and fill in the Tai O Cyber Learning Centre - Membership Application Form (Chinese only) and return it to the Tai O Centre.
