Be a Cartoonist 2009

HAC was glad to receive the sponsorship from Disney Children's Fund to launch the 'Be a Cartoonist' programme. Disney's Children Fund provides funding to non-profit organizations for the development of new and creative welfare programs to support local children in need. It is funded by The Walt Disney Company and administered by Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.

This programme aims to promote the culture of reading and to cultivate the creativeness of primary school children. Professional drawing and storytelling training will be given to participants. Children can also enjoy the fun of publishing their own drawings. For younger children, HAC will arrange workshops for parents, so that the families can work together and make their own picture books. These training sessions will be held in all five centres of HAC, which are located in Wong Tai Sin, Lamma Island and Tai O. The programme will start in December 2009 and end in mid 2010. A fairy tale fashion show will mark the end of the programme. For enquires, please contact Diana Boyd Wilson Centre at telephone no.: 23386820 or email: dbw@hac.org.hk.
